We are excited to be (re)launching the JJAG Youth Council, a council of young people (ages 14-26) who engage with youth justice topics and help inform the direction and priorities of Maine’s Juvenile Justice Advisory Group.

We invite any young person who has experienced Maine’s juvenile justice system and/or cares about youth justice topics to join us! We will be holding biweekly Zoom meetings that create space for:

  • Collective learning about the history of juvenile justice
  • Storytelling around how youth justice has played out in our lives
  • Visioning around how we could create more just and loving systems

The Youth Council will be co-facilitated by Jon Solomon from Boys & Girls Clubs of Bordertowns, Bruce King from Maine Boys to Men, and Swathi Sivasubramanian from the Young People’s Caucus. Young people will be compensated for their time and contribution at $20 per meeting.

If you or young people you work with are interested, join us on Zoom for one or both of our upcoming Intro to the JJAG Youth Council sessions!
